Ezine Ad Co-ops are a good source of new subscribers. However, if you don't take care you can add to your ezine's mailing list tons of "subscribers" who never read anything you sent. If you do this, you're lying you (!) and you're lying your advertisers. Don't do it!
Every time when I receive from ad co-ops a new subscriber I send to the subscription email address a clear message having the subject line "Jokes Journal - Your Confirmation Required".
Some people confirm their susbcription, other people don't. [It's hard to understand people who don't confirm their subscription and therefore the ad they paid for will never be published ... but that's another story.]
Let's see the result of a test I've made on January, February and March regarding the subscribers received from the following two ezine ad co-ops:
1) 2Bucks an Ad
2) Home Business Advertising (HBAds)
January Results:
2Bucks an Ad: from 61 susbcribers received, 32 confirmed their subscription = 52.46%
HBAds: from 42 susbcribers received only 5 confirmed their subscription = 11.90%
February Results:
2Bucks an Ad: from 54 susbcribers received, 37 confirmed their subscription = 68.52%
HBAds: from 53 susbcribers received only 15 confirmed their subscription = 28.30%
March Results (until March 26):
2Bucks an Ad: from 45 susbcribers received only 20 confirmed their subscription = 44.44%
HBAds: from 56 susbcribers received only 12 confirmed their subscription = 21.43% _________________ Low Cost Ezine Classified Ads

Here is a comment received by email from Bo Ekvall, the owner of 2Bucks an Ad:
| Quote: | Yes, that's result that I have myself. And I never could understand
why people pay for service and don't make sure they get it.
It's all over my webpages and in the order confirmation email that
most ezine publishers use double optin systems and that they must
read email with instructions how to subscribe.
I send one email and 2 reminders to each subscriber who want their
ad in my own ezine. Nevertheless I have 415 emails in my "not responded"
folder. People who never got their ad published. This is the last 2 years
but still much for my small ezine.
Also, I have to send back some 40% of ads to the clients to edit
their ads before I send them to the ezine publishers. You should only
see what kind of ads I get here. Time consuming, as it is the same thing
here. I have to send innumerous reminders in some cases and some
I edit myself.
Have a great day.
Bo
