Hello dear friends!
A few hours ago, I read on ClickBank's blog an article titled "7 Steps to a Killer Newsletter Strategy".
Let's see what was the article teaching the readers ...
Step 1 - call your newsletter a "6-day mini course", bla, bla, bla ..., "Step 5 - Day 7 promotional email"
While reading this step 5, I said to myself, "Oops! I didn't know that the figures from 1 to 6 include 7..." but then I discovered the mistery: "After the 6-day course has ended, your subscribers are ready to get a hard-sell promotional email." Whaat? And then the next step came ... "Step 6 - Keep emailing them every 3 days"
So ... let's recap ... make people in a way or another sign up for a SIX DAY course, and then forget about your promise, offer them an unannounced "bonus": keep bombarding them with your promotional emails
So what people signed up for a SIX DAY course, right? The 6 days will become an endless period unless the subscribers to that course get mad and unsubscribe. The subscribers were misleaded ... "a little bit" only... Really? Hmm ...
Actually I'm not puzzled. I've seen the same misleading procedure used by a lot of people, including so called internet marketing gurus. Unfortunately that's today's world. Sorry, but if I am forced to choose between becoming a pickpocket and a bank robber, I'll rob the banks. I may get more money and as a bonus ... the pickpockets and other criminals will respect me...
However ... you know what the real problem is? The truth is that there are a lot of people respecting and paying persons who actually misleaded them, sometimes even calling them gurus and further promoting them. That's why spam exists, that's why scams exist, that's why ... Think about this ...
All the best to you and yours,
Adrian Jock
